Happy Valentines Day to all you lovebirds out there. The day started off walking Cali for about a million miles. I did a quick bike ride down to the beach to have a look at the waves. It was small with quite a bit of wind on it. Large ships were moving quickly across the horizon on their way into Mayport past the jetties. I hurried home and we cooked up some oats and ate them out on the porch.
We relaxed in the morning sun and exchanged little Valentines gifts. It was still a little cool but much better than yesterday. PJ laid on her back and meditated looking up into the canopy of trees that surrounds our site. I did a little art project and played a few tunes on the guitar before we worked up enough motivation to ride our bikes over to the beach.
The waves had cleaned up quite a bit so I got inspired and sped back to camp and tossed the SUP on the car and jammed back to the beach to get in some practice. It was a lot harder than the first time because of the choppiness of the water but we traded off with each other and had a lot of fun. One of us would boogie board while the other did the stand up thing. We wandered around the shore after doing our usual search for shark teeth. We came up with three nice little additions to our growing collection. The day was winding down and we started getting cold so we packed everything up then PJ drove the car while I pedaled the remaining bike back to camp. Hot showers and dog walks as we start preparing for tomorrow’s move to the Karma Farms hipcamp.
